How it works

How Swag31 works

A team launches a custom apparel store, supporters buy the gear, every order is printed on demand and shipped to the buyer, and the team keeps a share of each sale.

The short version

Swag31 is a fundraising platform for school and club sports teams of any sport. A coach or team admin creates a team store, designs custom apparel with AI or uploaded art, and shares the link. Nothing is pre-made: each order is printed after it is placed and shipped straight to the buyer, so the team never holds inventory.

Launch a team store in seven steps

  1. Create your team store. Sign in, name your team and pick its colours. The store lives at swag31.com/your-team.
  2. Connect payouts. The team connects its own Stripe account so sales are paid to the team.
  3. Design the gear. Use the AI design studio or upload your own artwork. Swag31 mocks it up on real blanks such as tees, hoodies and hats.
  4. Set prices. You choose each item's price. Swag31 will not let an item be priced below what it costs to make and sell.
  5. Invite your athletes. Each athlete claims a player page with their own share link, and purchases through that link are credited to them.
  6. Choose the Season Pass and launch. Optionally set start and end dates for the campaign, then open the store.
  7. Share and sell. Supporters buy, the order is printed and shipped to them, and the team's share goes to its Stripe account.

Who gets paid what

The buyer pays the team's item price plus shipping. From each sale Swag31 recovers the print cost, the shipping the buyer paid (it covers the print partner's shipping) and card processing, then takes a 5% platform fee on the item price. What is left is the team's share.

  • The team keeps what remains after those costs and fee.
  • Swag31 takes the 5% platform fee plus the Season Pass.
  • The Season Pass is $89 by card up front, or $99 taken from the team's first sales. If the team sells nothing under the second option, it owes nothing.

See the Pricing page for a worked example, or the FAQ for common questions.

What supporters see

Supporters open the team's link, pick an item, colour and size, and check out. They get an order confirmation email, and a shipping update with tracking once the order ships. Because every item is made to order, misprinted or damaged items are reprinted or refunded, but wrong-size and change-of-mind orders are not. The Refunds page has the details.
